Marc “Hutch” Hunter, CMAA, has been a member of the UIAAA for over 30 years and has served as its Executive Director for the last 17 years. During his tenure, he has expanded the UIAAA conference format, instituted the UIAAA Hall of Fame and Directors Cup, and established the 1st and 2nd Strategic Plan for the organization. He has been instrumental in establishing UIAAA scholarships for high school athletes across the state. He was awarded the UIAAA Athletic Director of the Year in 2002 and has been named Athletic Director of the year by four other organizations. He received the UIAAA Meritorious Award in 2006 and was inducted into the UIAAA Hall of Fame in 2014. In January of this year, he received the Distinguished Contributor Award from the UHSAA.

Nationally, Hunter currently serves as the Chair of the NIAAA National Executive Directors Council (NEDC). He also works as a NIAAA National faculty member, chairing the LTC 790 course. He was on the NIAAA Awards Committee for eight years, five of which he served as chair. He also served a 3-year term on the NIAAA Board of Directors from 2009-2011. He was chair of the Operations sub-committee for the 4th NIAAA Strategic Plan. He was awarded the NIAAA Distinguished Service Award in 2005, the NFHS Citation in 2002, and the Frank Kovaleski Professional Development Award in 2014. Marc was inducted into the NIAAA Hall of Fame in 2017.

Hunter retired from public education in June 2013 after working as a teacher, coach, and athletic director at Jordan High School for 34 years.  He is dedicated to the success of student athletes on and off the court, and works tirelessly to continue the improvement of high school athletics across the state and nation. He and his wife Debra are the parents of 4 children and 14 grandchildren whom they love and adore!  In his spare time, Hutch likes to golf and travel to National Parks with his family.
