New UIAAA State Awards Program

As a UIAAA member, you now have the ability to apply for (or nominate another for) UIAAA State awards via the UIAAA AMP platform!

In order to help you understand this process, below is a quick step-by-step guide to how you can set up your first award nomination:

  1. Access your UIAAA applicant at https://uiaaa.finalforms-amp.com/
  2. At the top of your screen, click on the new AWARDS tab.
  3. On the awards listing page, choose the award you wish to apply for (or nominate another UIAAA member for) and click CREATE NOMINATION.
  4. Fill out the fields for nominator (the person submitting the nomination, usually yourself), the nominee (the person being nominated: could be you or a peer), and click CREATE NOMINATION.
  5. Follow the step-by-step guide to submit the nomination to the board for review.

Step 1: Create A Non-Member NIAAA Profile

Create a Non-Member Profile on NIAAA Website

(Skip this step if you are already a member)

    1. On the NIAAA Website in the upper right-hand corner select Register 
    2. Member Type is Non-Member unless you want to become a member
    3. Enter Username (Your Email Address) enter first name, last name, I’m not a robot and select Continue
    4. Select Accept this Membership and Continue
    5. COMPLETE ALL FIELDS WITH RED ASTERISK AND THEN SUBMIT.

i. Your Member ID # will not change when you do become a member or move to a different state/school district.

ii. The Member Number is required when you sign in for Leadership Training Institute (LTI) courses.

iii. You can find your member number on the NIAAA website, go to my profile, then under quick links select View Membership Card and ID number.

Step 2: Free NIAAA Membership

Register on the UIAAA/Amp membership page

    1. Since the NIAAA is covering one year’s membership, be sure to click PAY BY CHECK LATER

i. This will allow the NIAAA to pay for the membership after the courses are completed. Do not pay by credit card because the NIAAA will not be able to provide your membership if you do this!

2023-24 Fall Sports Team GPA’s

The UIAAA is once again asking for your VARSITY Team average GPA’s for fall sports.

This information will be used in rankings for the UIAAA Directors Cup.  (The team GPA’s account for 40% of the ranking for the Directors’ Cup)

This information will also be used for the Academic State Champion Award, for each sport and classification.  These awards presentations may be made during the fall state tournaments.

Sports and activities included would be:  Baseball (1A), Football, Boys Golf, Girls Soccer, Girls Tennis, Girls Volleyball, Boys Cross Country and Girls Cross Country.  Please fill out the form and report average GPA’s for each of the sports listed above for VARSITY athletes only.   WE ARE ASKING YOU USE THE CUMULATIVE  GPA FOR EACH STUDENT WHEN CALCULATING THE TEAM GPA.

Congratulations to last year’s Directors’ Cup recipients;  Panguitch, Waterford, Manti,  Sky View, Mountain View and Bingham.

The UIAAA will accept individual team GPA’s between August 4 to September 22, 2023.

Step 3: USBE Lane Change

If you would like (USBE) lane-change credit, register on MIDAS using this link.

    1. 501 will be taught in the morning, 502 in the afternoon, and 503 will be completed online.
    2. You MUST complete all three courses to receive the 1.0 USBE credit.

UIAAA Accepting Applications for Secretary/Communications Coord and Treasurer

The UIAAA is accepting applications for the following positions until Wednesday, May 24th with duties to begin July 1, 2023. Applications MUST be submitted electronically via email to utahiaaa@gmail.com.

SECRETARY/COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

-Take notes during all Board of Directors meetings.
-Take notes during all ADEC meetings.
-Maintains a current notebook file with official minutes, special board information, present committee members, copy of the present constitution, current members of the ADEC and Board of Directors, membership information and special forms.
-Post minutes for the Board of Directors and ADEC meetings on the portal.
-Assist with recruiting UIAAA sponsors (Gold, Silver, Bronze and Friends).
-Oversees the Directors Cup Calculation and Academic State Champions.
-Tracking and monitoring the submitted informationAssist the Assistant Executive Director in the planning of the UIAAA State Conference.
-Production of all State Conference programs and agendas.
-Portal Entries
-ADEC/BOD Agendas
-ADEC/BOD Minutes
-Quarterly newsletter
-Social Media updates
-Serves at the pleasure of the board
-Stipend $1400

-Provides updated budget and balance sheet to the general membership before each ADEC meeting.
-Initiating notices, publications, reports and other items necessary for proper operation of the Association.
-Oversees the receiving and distribution of funds as authorized by the Executive Director.
-Submitting an annual financial report of the UIAAA State conference.
-Oversees UIAAA vendor signups and assists with recruiting UIAAA sponsors (Gold, Silver, Bronze and Friends).

2022-23 Spring Sports Team GPAs

The UIAAA is once again asking for your VARSITY Team average GPA’s for Spring sports.

This information will be used in rankings for the UIAAA Directors Cup. (The team’s average GPA’s account for 40% of the ranking for the Directors’ Cup)

This information will also be used for the Academic State Champion for each sport and classification. These awards presentations will be made at the school in a special assembly and an announcement recognizing the team winners will be made at State tournaments. Teams may also choose to be present at that recognition in a special assembly.

Sports and activities included would be: Baseball, Boys Golf (1A only), Girls Golf, Boys Lacrosse, Girls Lacrosse, Boys Soccer, Softball, Boys Tennis, Boys Track and Girls Track. Please fill out the form and report average GPA’s for each of the sports listed above for VARSITY ATHLETES ONLY. Use the cumulative GPA for each varsity student.

The UIAAA will accept individual team GPA’s between March 6 to April 7, 2023.

UIAAA Accepting Applications for Executive Director

The UIAAA is accepting applications for the following position until Friday, February 10th. Applications MUST be submitted electronically via email to utahiaaa@gmail.com.

Executive Director
This position shall be appointed by the Board of Directors with full duties beginning July 1, 2024.

Duties:
1. Shall oversee all members of the Board of Directors
2. Chief financial officer and assist in creating and managing the budget.
3. Shall represent the UIAAA at the UHSAA Executive Committee meetings.
4. Review and update POP Manual following the June Board of Directors meeting.
5. Review minutes of all ADEC and Board of Directors meetings.
6. Shall serve as an advisor to the President.
7. Shall oversee collection and input of Student Scholarship application materials.
8. Shall oversee and ratify Director’s Cup Award.
9. Shall collect and pay all membership dues for members for the UIAAA and NIAAA.
10. Shall coordinate and organize travel for board members to Section 7 meeting and State Coordinators Summit.
11. Shall attend NEDC annual meeting.

* Candidate should be a Certified Test Administrator (CTA) and must have minimum of CAA certification, CMAA certification preferred.

UIAAA Student-Athlete Scholarship Applications

Please have the qualified high school seniors in your building consider applying for one of 6 $2,000 scholarships being awarded from the UIAAA this year. The deadline is January 31, 2023, and the link for paperwork is below. Hard copy applications may be sent to the address below or emailed to this email address (utahiaaa@gmail.com) in completed pdf format. Applications are coming in and have already been accepted.

Please fill out the form and report average GPA’s for each of the sports listed above for VARSITY athletes only. WE ARE ASKING YOU USE THE CUMULATIVE  GPA FOR EACH STUDENT WHEN CALCULATING THE TEAM GPA.

The UIAAA will accept individual team GPA’s between November 8 to January 6, 2023.
