February LTI Class Offerings Announced

0

The UIAAA will host two LTI classes on Monday, February 8, 2021.

LTC 502 and LTC 723 will be offered to athletic administrators interested in professional development and certification. The schedule includes LTC 502 offered from 8:00am-12:00pm and LTC 723 from 12:30pm-4:30pm. Lunch will be provided between courses (if classes are in-person).

The current plan is to offer the classes as in-person instruction at the UHSAA offices in Midvale. However, based on UHSAA guidelines for facility use the classes may be offered online on February 8th.

Cost for each class is $80 for one course or $150 for both.

LTC 502 Athletic Administration: Strategies for Organization Management
This course takes a basic approach to the fundamentals and methods of athletic administration and alerts and educates athletic administrators on potential problems and possible solutions in areas such as chain of command, scheduling, contest management, and personnel management. The course also touches upon eligibility, critical incident planning, financial responsibilities, legal, law, liability, equipment and facilities. Required for: RAA, RMSAA, CAA and CMAAA Certification

LTC 723 Administration of Professional Growth Programs For Interscholastic Athletic Personnel
There is an ever-increasing demand for trained coaches at all levels of high school and middle school competition. Legal concerns, parental expectations and the objective of providing the best education-based approach for athletes have spurred this movement. Training may include professional development, education and mentoring initiatives. All continuing efforts should be based upon the National Standards for Sport Coaches and would include individual school-sponsored programs, state association requirements and professional providers such as the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) Professional Development Academy, the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Coach Education program and the American Sport Education Program (ASEP). Providing continuing professional development and education for coaches is one of the 14 legal responsibilities of athletic administrators.

Registration for the classes is done online at the UIAAA FinalForms AMP site – Events.
